You have a few choices. You could hire some mates or call on family and friends to fill gaps. This is absolutely the right thing to do for functions that you understand well or that are quite simple and just need some grind.

When you don’t know.

For some types of work, you really need people who know what they are doing. They’ve done it before, ideally many times. They can make better and faster decisions and crack on with doing rather than struggling through.

Advisors can be great in these situations to help explain things. But at the end of the day, you’re still going to have to do it yourself, and maybe it’s not something you can do or do well.

In this situation, you could just hire someone with the right skills and experience, but in the first few years of business growth, you don’t really need a full-time person for every function and likely couldn’t afford them anyway.

This is where our fractional team enters from stage left. You hire a ‘chunk’ of our team, spearheaded by a fractional COO. Someone with broad business experience who can move the needle for your business but in a cost-effective way and draw upon the expertise in our team to solve specific challenges as they arise. We give you perhaps 10 to 20 hours each week and focus only on those things that your team currently lacks the skills and experience to do well.
